Lesson 3 - Change Diapers
Be The Dad You Wish You Had - Ryan Roy

The video below is NOT a word for word reading of the book. It is the author giving a different perspective on the text to help YOU get a deeper understanding of the material
A perfect stranger gave this gem of advice and it made perfect sense to me. Bonding and connecting to your child is such an intimate experience. A great deal of trust is developed between you and your little one. Take every opportunity to gain that trust.
This is something many dads feel is the mother’s job. There is no “mothers” job to do. There is no “fathers” job to do. This is an opinion based on my experience. When you change your child’s diapers they learn to trust you. They know you’ll do anything for them. But if you choose to do certain things and not others, your child will learn you can be relied on for certain things.
Why? Because you’ve shown the child you will only do certain things. This is what’s called conditional love. Unconditionally love your child by changing their wet or soiled diapers. Having a soiled or wet diaper is not comfortable for them. Your job is to comfort your child no matter what. That is your duty as their parent.
